The next EuroKatana meeting ( Eurokat 11) will be on weekend 2-4 August 2024
Motorcamping 'De Hei'
Gochsedijk 37
5853 AA Siebengewald ( Noord Limburg ) info@campingdehei.nl
We hope to meet as many of our Katana friends from NL as possible.
(A proper invite to follow. )
-
So it is getting time to finalise the meeting and time to ask if anyone can help by being the contact between the committee and the venue in Friesland. Please
Also it is normal to have an event t shirt made which we will do .
But we need names and sizes of those attending .
Could you add your name and size below on this post .
-
A quick note to say do we know who may be attending this event , even for a day passing through .. We would like to meet up with Club NL.
-
Hi Fossie, I plan on coming to the event, just one day, but I'll be there!
-
If everything goes according to plan, I hope to be there on Saturday.
-
Well, the Kat is still running and it has been a few years since the last meeting...
-
I'll be there with my Kat for a short visit if I manage to fix it on time..
-
Excellent news gentlemen and ladies..... of course we can't assume these days ;D
-
WE have booked and paid for a band on Saturday night, and need a few tracks to add to the playlist of the dj .. any thoughts?
Also t shirt sizes please.
-
Some of the UK club will be spending the Thursday evening in Volkenburg, before travelling to the Eurokat event on Friday morning . Is there anyone in that area.
-
Also t shirt sizes please.
Size L ;D

Is that Volkenburg Friesland? ??? :D

I think paying some attention to the following link explaining the provinces of the Netherlands would be appreciated. Especially in Limburg where they probably will not take kindly to being referred to as being part of "Holland".

Oh well..
WE have booked and paid for a band on Saturday night, and need a few tracks to add to the playlist of the dj .. any thoughts?
..
Sounds like you're planning on having quite a party!
Let me contribute by suggesting a few "nederpop" songs for the playlist in the attached text file.
-
Arnout, thats for your input,.
Also is there anyone that contact Suzuki NL and ask for some merchandise to raffle off.
Suzuki D usually do but Suzuki GB were not so good but our local dealer was.
-
So just a few weeks now. The band is paid for Saturday night, the t shirts are ready, the ferries from here booked ..We will arrive Friday morning at the camping De Hei about 1200 hrs when it opens ..
It would be helpful if we could have a Dutch person there to help with helping the owners of the site and us get everything set out ...I mean we will get by and the interaction between Polle, Karlijn & I has been good so far ..
Can you help ?
-
Hi Fossie, I can't be there friday, I have to work that day and it is too far away from where I live.
Will be there saturday.
Are you planning a ride on saturday?
-
Hi Peterr We would like a ride out but obviously we should have a local guide / suggestion , so we can sort it out on the Saturday , any ride out is normally 1400 hrs roughly .
-
A last call , The event is this weekend ..from Friday 1200 through to Sunday morning when we leave to touring NL on the way home.
See you there !!!
-
Sorry I/We missed you at the event those could make it .
In the end we had 60 katanas there from France, Uk, Germany, Denmark and of course NL.
When you arrived we had just gone out for a ride and got back just as you were leaving I believe ..
Anyway we enjoyed the Netherlands and spent an evening in Volkenburg before heading North to Siebengewalde . and Partying until 3 am ...
-
We (or at least I) aimed at arriving at Siebengewald on time for the ride that was anounced at 14:00h. So it was a bit strange to find so few people around. Still we met some familiar (German) and new (Welsh) faces.
-
As said a pity , but in all honesty it was the Germans who said they were going out as it was so warm and everyone already up and about , because the band and entertainment which is normally on Friday night and results in later starts for obvious reasons was on the saturday night no one was worse for ware! Not knowing that there was others attending , we went out ..
These things are fluid and the event isn't just about the ride out , there was the music, sillygames , voting , and having a laugh with mates from other nations .
Next time eh?
You really don't want to hear where the plan is for !!!1
-
I thought it was a very nice meeting. Met several Katanists from England, Wales, Germany and France. And the great stories to go with it. Great. I was there at about 11:30, and then after 15 minutes a whole group started riding as well. A quarter to 3 I left again. I hope I didn't miss too many people and bikes......
Maybe more convenient if it is known in advance when the ride is scheduled?
Are there any photos of the event available anywhere? On facebook? I can, if there is a need, link my photos here.
In any case, thank you very much for organizing. I have never seen so many Katanas together!
Oh, and if there are new plans, please let us know.

Since I am unable to find pictures of the held Eurokat I am posting (linking for as long a it lasts) my pictures here if I may. In stages though.

Zenks foor poosting jouw foto's Kees!

This very beautiful quite original looking Katana GSX 750 S is still owned by the german owner who bought is some 40 years ago! Awesome.
Apart from the beautiful looking spoke wheels, the handlebar, frontfender, turnindicators, mirrors, rear swingarm, and exhaust it is still in very original condition.

Very original Katana, the mirrors are not original, but.......

-
..the mirrors are not original......
And neither is the engine! :D Looks like an EFE engine, but is probably an EFE top end put on the original cases. The clutch and generator engine covers were replaced by EFE items as well.
-
Thank you Arnout for the corrections.
Hoping to do better for the next one.
This one is looking very original as well. (At least the engine is ;D)
So what is not original? The anti dive system is not attached, handlebars, mirrors, saddle bags
place/mountingbracket of the front turnindicators and the turnindicators themselves, 4 into 1 exhaust.

This is a very stock looking Pop-up Kat.
The story of this Kat is that it was build on a meeting.
After the meeting there was a draw, and the Katana could be won by one of the participants. After that, the pop-up was sold to the current owner.
It is looking very beautiful imho:
